Knit Finger Puppets! • April 15th, 2015

Project: Knit Finger Puppets! (and continuing wedding decorations, if you wanna)   
$3 Processing fee, please

Imagine a tiny sock that will only fit over one of your fingers, because that’s what I have. These are so cool, I’m bringing the felt and the googly eyes and the pipe cleaners and the yarn, so you can REALLY DO IT UP. I have blue, orange, red and some other color that isn’t coming to mind right this moment.

Make a little red elephant! Make a blue surfer dude! Make Elizabeth Warren! Make a giraffe or a dinosaur or a ghost or a clown or a Metro operator or a flower or a whatever you want!!!! And then keep it in your pocket so you can do a mini puppet performance right on the spot: ideal for job interviews or introducing yourself to strangers. Have your tiny finger puppet break the bad news, or your tiny finger puppet can give therapy sessions, or perform religious services, or give speeches to the media.

Be careful that your finger puppet doesn’t develop paranoia and delusions of grandeur, you don’t want it starting a cult and running away with the rest of your hand and taking over your life.

Jointed Knights! • April 8th, 2015

Project: Jointed Knight!

Game of Thrones is coming up, the latest season. Knowing such a thing, I jumped at ordering us some brave cardboard-foily knights with jointed limbs! You can assemble them according to recommendation, or do what is not recommended and still get something fabulous! You can develop your own armor for your clan and make banners for it, march around the house while drinking flagons of ale, watching HBO!

Weirdly, upon arrival, I noticed that each kit comes with decor for your knight, and ALL of the kits come with red crosses.

Now… it is historically accurate if you consider the crusades and all of that business going on back in the day, but it doesn’t really fit with the Game of Thrones “fantasy medieval” aesthetic. No matter, we think you can include and edit your project however you like.

You can shorten  your cross so that it’s more of a “International Red Cross” foreign aid knight, or leave it off, or use it, it’s really up to you, but just so you know, CraftNight is not religious in any shape or form. CraftNight is CraftNight, so you know, make your own kind of music, sing your own special song.

Want to find an egg with a TREAT in it? I hope so, because I’ve got some treats, and I got some eggs, and we’ll have a small auxiliary spring time game for you to play. An egg is waiting for each crafter, and what’s in it will be a token of CraftNight’s appreciation just for you!

Our main craft is an Easter bunny necklace that will be a hit at any Easter appointment you’ll be attending this Sunday. Spring is for bunnies, lambs and chicks, it’s for tiny shoots of grass and puffy clouds, and blue skies! It’s for cleaning out your spice cabinet, getting rid of old stuff in your drawers and getting new spiffy clothing for running around outside! You can officially pack up all that cold weather stuff, LA is warming up and gearing up for funshine.

Don’t just stand there like a ninny with your notes in your hands, MAKE A NOTE HOLDER!
You’ll have three different possibilities:

ADORABLE ANTS – Ants are associated with diligence, cooperation and industry. They can also stand for social conformity and mass action. This one is a twee little kit with puffballs and googly eyes, a clip and a magnet for you to attach to the ant. It works! It’s an ant, it’s very anty.

PLEASING PLANES – Say you want your notes to be held in a higher consciousness, this plane note holder is perfect for that! Remind yourself daily of the aspirations you have and new heights to which you are headed! The plane note holders are red, yellow and blue, and are just the sort of bright thing to brighten up a fridge or dungeon lair.

CUDDLY CATERPILLARS – If you want your note holder to carry an aura that signifies an era of change, this is the one for you. Wooden Disguises • March 11th, 2015

Project: Wooden Disguises for Your Exotic, Mysterious Life! 
$3 Processing fee, please
$4 Drink Specials, everyone gets more lovely with each sip! 

You see someone walking down the street that you do NOT want to see. There are no trashcans or cars or walls for you to duck behind, they are walking toward you, leaning forward, searching for recognition. Quick! Rustle around in your rucksack and pull out your trusty disguise, it’s made of wood, and it looks like a robot, kitty, puppy or butterfly! Expertly you hide your face behind the themed facade, and the opposite party shrugs and walks on by thinking “Huh, to think it could’ve been…”

You will fool anybody and everybody with this wooden disguise mask. Reconnaissance has never been this easy! Fool someone into thinking you aren’t in the room, go incognito to avoid press detection, go undercover in your city to fight for justice!

In other news, it’s NATIONAL CRAFT MONTH so we’re kicking up our heels and feeling rather snazzy, having been at the Craft Table for going on 13 years now, how about that? There will be small but mighty surprises for March’s CraftNight crafters, mark my words.

Other March highlights are: Irish-American Heritage Month, Quinoa Month, National Frozen Food Month and “Mad for Plaid” Month.
