What craft do I have for you this week? I was thinking about the BIRDS and how they get hungry. We’ll be making bird feeders out of popsicle sticks! It’s easy as pie, I have a diagram for you and all the required popsicle sticks to make this work. It kind of looks like a lil’ raft, but then you build upward with your sticks so that it makes a cool box-type structure, and you’ll tie some yarn to it so it can hang from a tree or the rafters, or wherever birds like to hang out.

We then go back to our regular programming with the cutest felt bird lacing craft that you ever did see.

It’s got tipped yarn laces, polyester fiberfill stuffing and self-adhesive felt shapes AND of course I’m putting out the extra felt so you can give it a fancy hat, a long beard, a fur coat, 16th century dungarees, whatever you want!

There will also be sparkles, googly eyes, puffballs, all the classic crafty smorgasbord items. So get in here and enjoy the cocktails, the camaraderie, the creativity and a lil’ sanity in this big ol’ city of Dodgertown!

Bold Alchemy Queer Self Defense brings you the Protect Your Neck class!!! This 1 hour Self Defense class with Cory Klink will teach you how to use every day objects to defend yourself! Bring your favorite high heels, that crazy sharp crystal on your altar, or a good old fashioned baseball bat and learn to use what you have with you if being attached! We will also cover basic kicks, punches, stances and meditation. Students are encouraged to wear what they feel expresses themselves best and feels comfortable to move in. Bold Alchemy is a trauma focused self defense program that aims to empower, arm and heal queer, trans and poc humans. It’s October and you know what that means. It means there are 5000 things to do in your city, and we’ve got quite a few of them lined up, so I’m just gonna list ’em! Things have been rough, we got a harsh startup this week, from Puerto Rico, to Las Vegas, to Tom Petty: but CraftNight will not let the turkeys get it down. CraftNight has a very special guest tonight to put some vim and vigor into your (possibly deflated) spirit. We have Queer Fists of Fury: Self Defense Class with Cory Klink!

Last month we focused on disaster preparedness with the Red Cross, and this month we’re focusing on Kicking some ass. We’re thinkers, we’re doers, we’re fighters. We fight the dumbness, and while it seems like there’s an incomprehensible avalanche of dumbness right now… we’re together, and we are persistent.The seeds we plant may grow into trees we never see, but we MUST KEEP PLANTING THEM.

What did the headless horseman do when he lost his head? He picked up a sword, got on a horse and got busy terrifying the residents of Tarry Town and Sleepy Hollow!!! He didn’t care if his head was in a bag somewhere by the side of the road, he carved a pumpkin, lit it on fire and threw it at Ichabod Crane. Say what you will about the headless horseman, but he knew how to get stuff done.
