It is with great pleasure and happiness that I announce our very FIRST Leap Day CraftNight in the history of all CraftNights!
As you know, the 29th of February comes into existence once every four years to keep our seasonal calendar from tearing apart and blasting the collective world’s chronological structure asunder, making everyone’s day runners and smartphones explode into a fiery pit of misery.
Adding an extra day to the calendar every four years compensates for the fact that a period of 365 days is shorter than a solar year by almost 6 hours! It’s totally amazing that people can figure this sort of thing out! This is cause for celebration.
To commemorate this wonderful day that messes with people’s reality and perception of time and space, we’re going to play with magnets. Magnets can help you organize your life, you can make a modular calendar for your fridge and add or subtract your OWN version of leap year! I’ll break out the foam shapes and the glue and the felt and it’s up to you to make whatever you want!
You’ll get some magnet strips, and you have the option of creating one or two BIG magnets, or cutting the strips and making a bunch of mini magnets! Don’t let stuff fall off your refrigerator ever again, magnetize it! Or make a fake lodestone that leads you to your lover! Or do that thing where you chase one magnet with another one and scootch it all over the table and it looks all supernatural! I don’t know… do what you wanna do, but come do it HERE at CraftNight this week!
The next time leap day falls on a Wednesday CraftNight, we’re going to be a helluva lot older, so come in and play so you can say you were THERE for the history books!
See you at the Craft Table,
JP Craft Captain
