Get that beachy clean feeling this week with the tropical bright colors of flowery frog magnets for your high tide adventures. If you’re not into frogs OR magnets, do not despair! I’ll have extra shapes and backings for PINS so that if you prefer to wear your creation on your person, the sassy option shall be available to you. You may also be visited by a shark or turtle craft, if one happens to swim by you in the bar… it’s been known to happen.

We have arrived at LA’s proprietary time of year, if you can’t find something to do in July and August, God help you, because OMGSOMANYTHINGS! A whiff of sunscreen permeates every block, the outdoor movies and the outdoor music are in full swing. You’ve got EIGHT fantastic LA Beaches to choose from and a smattering of public pools with free access, and hotel pools accessible through patronage or by utilizing the good ol’ fashioned “sneak-in approach.” Every custom food truck within a 20 mile radius is trying to find you! Every theme park southern california has boasts longer hours, the water parks are operating at full flood capacity! Festivals and fairs beckon with sugary salty treats as you bravely board any manner of exciting and harrowing rides held together with scotch tape, cotter pins and rubber tires! It’s SUMMERRRR!!!!

SPECIAL NIGHT: Longtime friend of Akbar, Kathy’s having her “20th Anniversary of Being in LA” party! Music, merriment and lots of fun!

We’re in the thick of summer’s fresh beachy clean bright days, with its concerts, camping trips, swimming pools and ice cream trucks: time for some fruit!

Over 1,200 varieties of watermelon are grown worldwide, and the one I’m offering is variety 1,201. It is decidedly inedible, but it is very glittery, comes with the word “Sweet” to be placed upon it at a jaunty angle, or whatever angle feels most jaunty to you. It’s an ornamental piece, I’ve only got 24, and then I’ve got some exciting party crafts to hand out, it’s going to be a big night!

Hopefully your new summer watermelon ornamental piece will remind you to eat watermelon, which is not a fruit, but a vegetable! It’s related to cucumber, squash and pumpkins. And if you’re trying to keep that svelte figure, you can’t go wrong with watermelon, packed with vitamins A and C, potassium, lots of fiber and NO cholesterol or fat! If you lose your water bottle, do not fret, watermelons were used by explorers as canteens centuries ago, and they’re still pretty good for that purpose!
