NEXT WEDNESDAY – December 15th, 2010 it’s the Ye Olde CraftNighte Crafte Faire! Drinks! Crafts! Handmade Items for Sale! Santa! Eek!
This Santa photo is very close to my heart, because I didn’t just lift this one out of my archives or find it online, I actually know these boys. A big thank you to the Stucker brothers, all seen here bravely supplying a complete and concise trio of emotions inspired by the man in red. And just LOOK at that Santa, if there was a Mona Lisa of Santas, this one might be it, because I can’t tell what he’s thinking. He looks rather somber at first, but I also see a kind of stoic and determined manner, and maybe even the hint of a smile in the eyes. I dunno, maybe he’s thinking about a GIANT glass of eggnog.
Anyway, we’re celebrating the last night of Hanukkah by crafting stockings, which might sound a little weird, but CraftNight was never really into things making sense. You can fill the stocking with gelt from your dreidel gambling addiction high-roller situation, or you can deep fry it in oil and try to pawn it off on Uncle Jack as a delicious fried delicacy (don’t forget the apple sauce!) and see if he eats the whole thing. Far as I know, these stockings are non-toxic.
The word tradition comes from theLatin traditionem which is the accusative case of traditio which means “handing over, passing on”. Use CraftNight as a way to preserve or change your personal traditions to either delight or freak out your friends and family this season!
Craft Lieutenants Ashley Craft (no really, her last name is “Craft”) and Elaine Walker (best collection of awesome and sassy dresses I’ve ever seen) will be at the helm tonight, show them your best side, leave your business side at home, come and unwind!
